Description
Subgenera varying from naticiform to completely disjunct, some earlier species with spiral and collabral threads or with collabral lines, some with hollow spines arising as marginal tubes, apertural margin of many shells deeply sinuate, conforming to irregularities of crinoid calyx to which it was attached during life. [Apertural irregularities primarily record characters of the host crinoid, not of the gastropod, the reentrants of some shells resembling pleurotomarian sinuses or slits, but having no homologous function.]
